We recorded this version of Rights of Man in late 2009 in what was supposed to be the first recording session for Anarchitecture - just before Todd & Kater left the band. It's a free bonus download for all the folks who've stuck with us and waited patiently for this album. Thanks for your patience!

Rights of Man is a traditional tune inspired by the Thomas Paine pamphlet of the same name. It's not clear whether it originated in Ireland (where the pamphlet was referred to as the "Ulster Bible" and helped inspire the United Irishmen's cross-faith push for a free and united Ireland) or in Appalachia; but it's been played and enjoyed in both places for over two centuries. We took it, rearranged it and added some funk, and played it regularly at Irish festivals and Folk events both.
